RMS – SALTO Interfaces
InfoDEN released its first SALTO interface, for RMS, in 2012. Since then, InfoDEN has expanded its range of Standard and Custom RMS interfaces for the various SALTO platforms and protocols. InfoDEN’s range of SALTO interfaces now includes the following SALTO platforms:

Standard Interfaces
We classify Standard Interfaces as those that are designed to cater for most accommodation environments.
These include scenarios where a Guest has an RMS reservation and requires access to their room via RFID, PIN or Mobile Key options.
They can also include default and optional common door access.
These interfaces are closely integrated with RMS and are either activated directly from the RMS Reservation screens or they run as automated background services that trigger based on updates to the RMS reservations.
We have two categories for our RMS Standard SALTO Interfaces:
- Integrated Interfaces
- Automated Interfaces
RMS – SALTO Integrated Key Interfaces
These interfaces use the integrated “Cut Keys” dialog in the box in the RMS Reservation Screens, to encode guest keys.
They allow multiple keys to be encoded for each RMS reservation.
They are suitable for multiple person occupancy environments, where several people may be linked to a single RMS reservation.
Such as Hotels, Motels, Apartments, etc.
They support both RFID and mobile keys.
UPDATE – The Integrated Interfaces now have an optional add-on that also allows a JustIn Mobile Key to be automatically generated, on check-in, for SALTO SPACE PMS and SHIP.

RMS – SALTO Automated Interfaces
These interfaces automatically generate a Mobile Key or PIN when reservations are checked-in.
They are generally used in remote reception or contact-less check-in environments.
These interfaces do not have screens and do not require staff intervention to generate a Key or PIN.
The PIN systems write the PIN to a designated field in the RMS and the RMS Correspondence functions are used to send the PIN to the Guest.

RMS – PMS Industry Standard Protocol
The PMS Industry Standard Protocol is a Room Based system.
It allows multiple keys to be encoded for each RMS reservation.
It is suitable for multiple person occupancy environments, where several people may be linked to a single RMS reservation. Such as Hotels, Motels, Apartments, etc.
We support both RFID and JustIn mobile keys for the PMS Industry Standard Protocol.
HAMS – RFID
The SALTO HAMS RFID interface allows staff to encode SALTO RFID keys for RMS Rooms, directly from the RMS Reservation screens.
It is the most commonly used interface in the accommodation sector, where keys are encoded for rooms.

SALTO Space – RFID
The SALTO Space RFID interface allows staff to encode SALTO RFID keys for RMS Rooms, directly from the RMS Reservation screens.
It is the most commonly used interface in the accommodation sector, where keys are encoded for rooms.

SALTO Space – JustIn Mobile
The SALTO Space JustIn interface for RMS is an add-on module to the RFID interface.
It allows staff to encode SALTO JustIn mobile keys directly from the RMS Reservation screens.
Staff can encode both RFID and JustIn keys for the same reservation. Note: currently RMS only supports one mobile key per reservation.

SALTO Space – JustIn Mobile – Auto
This is an add-on to the JustIn Mobile interface for RMS.
It automatically generates a SALTO JustIn mobile key when a Reservation is checked in.
This function works for both manual staff check-ins and RMS Guest Portal Guest Self Check-ins.
It can be enabled or disabled for individual reservations. Staff can still encode additional RFID keys for the same reservation.
Note: currently RMS only supports one mobile key per reservation.

RMS – SHIP Protocol
The SALTO SHIP Protocol is a User Based system.
It only allows a single key to be encoded for each RMS reservation.
We support both RFID and JustIn mobile keys for the SHIP Protocol.
We also have a PIN only option, that is possible in very specific situations.
SALTO Space – SHIP – RFID
The SALTO SHIP RFID interface allows staff to encode SALTO RFID keys directly from the RMS Reservation screens.
It is suitable for single person occupancy environments, where only one person is linked to any RMS reservation.
Such as Mining Camps, Student Accommodation, Hostels, etc.

SALTO Space – SHIP – JustIn Mobile
The SALTO SHIP JustIn interface for RMS is an add-on module to the RFID interface.
It allows staff to activate a SALTO JustIn mobile key directly from the RMS Reservation screens.
Staff can encode both an RFID and JustIn key for the same reservation. Note: both RMS and SALTO only support one mobile key per reservation/user.

This is an add-on to the SHIP – JustIn Mobile interface for RMS.
It automatically generates a SALTO JustIn mobile key when a Reservation is checked in.

SALTO Space – SHIP – Door PIN
The SALTO SHIP Door PIN interface allows for “PIN only” access through Space.
It is only suitable in situations where the Guest only requires PIN access to their Room Door and no other common area doors.
Such as Motels, Cabins, etc.
This interface generates a random PIN for every RMS Reservation, when the reservation is created, and stores the PIN in the RMS Reservation record.
The PIN can be sent to the Guest using the RMS Correspondence features.
The interface automatically activates Room Door PIN, when the RMS Reservation is set to “Arrived”.
The PIN is automatically deactivated when the Guest’s RMS Reservation Status is changed to “Departed”.

RMS – SALTO KS
SALTO KS Protocol is a User Based system.
It allows a single SALTO KS User to be linked to each RMS reservation.
We support PIN or KS Guest Mode Mobile key options for the SALTO KS Protocol.
SALTO – KS – PIN
The SALTO KS PIN interface links each RMS Room to a ‘static’ SALTO KS User. The interface automatically requests a PIN from SALTO KS, when an RMS Reservation’s Status is set to “Arrived”, and stores the PIN in the RMS Reservation record.
The PIN can be sent to the Guest using the RMS Correspondence features.

SALTO KS – Guest Mode Mobile
The SALTO KS Guest Mode Mobile interface automatically generates a SALTO KS Guest Mode Mobile Key link, when an RMS Reservation is checked in.
The link can be sent to the guest via the RMS Triggered Correspondence functions.
SALTO KS Guest Mode Mobile Key access is linked to the SALTO KS Pods.

RMS – SALTO Custom Interfaces
Reservation Updates for Hotspots – SALTO DBSYNC
Scenario:
A mining accommodation camp with returning staff.
Custom Requirement:
When staff return to the site, there should be no need for them to go to a staffed reception desk to receive a room key.
Solution:
- The staff identification cards are printed on RFID room keys.
- Staff HR Identification numbers are used to link each staff members RMS and SALTO accounts.
- An interface was developed to automatically update staff room access in SALTO, based on RMS reservation updates.
- When staff return to the camp, they go to a SALTO Hotspot and swipe their identification card to update their key access.
Reservation to Room Access Reconciliation Reports – SALTO Space Audit Logs
Scenarios:
A mining company pays their accommodation camp management contractors based on room use, not on booking made.
Custom Requirements:
- To confirm that guests entering rooms have a corresponding RMS reservation
- To flag RMS reservations that did not have a corresponding room entry during they booking period
- To record room entries without a corresponding RMS Reservation
Solution:
- Staff HR Identification numbers are used to link each staff member’s RMS and SALTO accounts.
- An interface was developed to reconcile the RMS Reservation records with the SALTO Audit Logs.
- The interface outputs a Colour Coded Grid report displaying:
- RMS Reservations with corresponding SALTO User Room Access [Green]
- RMS Reservations without corresponding SALTO User Room Access [Yellow]
- SALTO User Room Access without corresponding RMS Reservation [Red]
